Job description:

As part of a small client-focussed team working in a fast paced, diverse environment, provide legal support services across the Department and supported authorities with an emphasis on liaison with Crown Law and administrative decision-making.

Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for two (2) years.

Duties

  • Provide high level specialist and strategic advice in the delivery of legal support with an emphasis on meeting the Department’s legal deliverables.
  • Make decisions as delegate of the Secretary and statutory officers.
  • Provide high level specialist advice across the Department, Ministers’ offices, and supported authorities regarding the Right to Information Act 2009.
  • Actively contribute to maintaining and enhancing the Department’s relationship with Crown Law.
  • Provide training, support and mentoring to team members and across the Department on day-to-day operational functions of the branch.

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or relevant discipline
