			Job description:
			Provide straightforward advice on a wide range of legal and policy matters including matters requiring research and the interpretation of the regulatory and policy framework within which the Land Titles Office (LTO) operates.
		 
	 
 
   
About the role
The Legal Officer plays a key role in supporting the Land Titles Office by providing legal and policy advice, undertaking research and statutory interpretation and assisting with the development of legislation and legal education initiatives.
Working closely with the Principal Solicitor and Recorder of Titles, you will contribute to a diverse range of essential legal functions such as strata title matters, compliance examinations, handling and managing complex dealings and litigation files and reviewing and updating processes and procedures.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation). 
Essential requirements
- Admitted, or qualified for and entitled to be admitted, as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania under the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007.
- A level 1 Legal Practitioner is a practitioner with less than 3 years' relevant post-admission experience and may include a graduate legal practitioner.
