As the first point of contact for the Systems Team, you’ll triage and manage Help Desk requests, working closely with users and team members to ensure timely, effective support. You’ll contribute to improving Help Desk processes, maintain clear and accessible documentation, and support system-related projects. About You

Treasury is looking for a Financial Systems Support Officer to join our Government Finance and Accounting Branch. You will be an organised and motivated individual helping coordinate the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) Help Desk.

This is an exciting opportunity to:

  • Be part of a small, collaborative team.
  • Triage and manage Help Desk requests, using initiative, liaising with stakeholders, and assigning tickets efficiently.
  • Conduct research and provide advice to improve Help Desk processes and user experience.
  • Maintain and enhance Help Desk documentation, including the Systems Team Manual.
  • Administer user access to financial systems in line with security protocols.
  • Support system-related projects and contribute to continuous improvement.

You will be a capable professional with strong communication skills and a stakeholder-focused mindset.

You will bring experience managing a Help Desk and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

About the Branch

The Government Finance and Accounting Branch monitors and reports on finances at both an agency and whole-of-government level and develops and implements financial management policy advice for the General Government Sector.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part time hours.

Period of Appointment

This is a fixed term appointment for a period of 12 months.

Desirable Requirements

A relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
