Job description:
Play a pivotal role in the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the award winning Three Capes Track infrastructure.

About the role
As a Field Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the Three Capes Track and Fortescue Bay. Reporting to the Ranger in Charge, you’ll:
- Maintain minor construction of infrastructure, buildings and equipment.
- Supervise and support employees and volunteers in operational tasks.
- Operate and maintain machinery, plant, and equipment safely.
- Assist visitors with information, advice, and safety guidance.
- Work and stay on track for extended periods of up to 10 days.
- Undertake fire operations, risk management, and enforcement of park regulations.
The role involves regular outdoor work, remote locations, and rostered overnight stays at track accommodation nodes.

Hours per fortnight
76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).
Essential requirements
- Successful completion of the fitness assessment at the “Arduous “level (4.83km walk carrying 20.5kg in 45 minutes or less).
- Workplace Level 2 First Aid qualification.
- A current motor vehicle drivers’ licence.
Desirable requirements
- A Trade Certificate in a discipline relevant to the duties.
- Remote Area or Wilderness First Aid qualification.
