Job description:

Develop policies, procedures and guidance documents and liaise with stakeholders to support the operation of the Waste and Resource Recovery Act 2022.

About the role

As Senior Waste Policy Officer within the Waste and Resource Recovery business unit you will:

  • Help ensure the successful implementation of the Waste and Resource Recovery Act 2022.
  • Contribute to policy development to facilitate waste industry reform and landfill levy implementation.
  • Liaise and provide advice to stakeholders and the community.
  • Conduct work on waste management and resource recovery sites throughout the state.

This is a permanent position based in Hobart, Launceston or Devonport (to be negotiated).

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

  • A Degree in either Science, Engineering, Sustainability or Business, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
