Job description:

The position contributes to achieving the office of Consumer, Building and Occupational Service’s (CBOS) objectives and outcomes through effective media liaison, developing and implementing both internal and external communication strategies and providing advice and guidance to Departmental officers on media and communication tasks and issues.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties

  • Write and coordinate content for a range of internal and external documents and publications including newsletters, information sheets, Internet and Intranet content, brochures and major Departmental publications.
  • Undertake the role of web co-ordinator for CBOS.
  • Write, edit and assist in approving content for the CBOS internet site, ensuring it meets the needs of the Department’s target audiences and Departmental and Government policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Assist with development and implementation of communication strategies to support CBOS’ operations, and review the effectiveness of these.
  • Establish collaborative partnerships and effective relationships across government agencies and with key stakeholders.
  • Provide quality control of CBOS’ external communications, including campaign and promotional material, print and online publications, websites, social media and multimedia productions.
  • Work to ensure the Department complies with both the Tasmanian Government Communications Policy and the Tasmanian Government Style Guide and Logo Policy.
  • As required from time to time, perform other tasks relevant to the skills and experience of the position classification.

  1. Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment.
  3. Identification check.
