Job description:

Assist with the management of operations and resources as the second in charge at the Freycinet Field Centre.

About the role

The Ranger is the field centre’s second in charge and assists the Ranger in Charge with the management of operations and resources at the Freycinet Field Centre.

In this role, the Ranger will:

  • Work alongside the Ranger in Charge and Visitor Services Coordinator to assist with managing operations for the conservation and sustainable use of natural and cultural resources.
  • Develop and lead the day to day works of the five person field officer team, providing direction and mentorship.
  • Manage more complex projects to maintain and protect natural, cultural and built assets.

Hours per fortnight

76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).

Essential requirements

  • A Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in reserve management or equivalent experience.

To access Band 4 Range 2 salary levels the following qualification is essential:

  • A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent.

Desirable requirements

  • A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
