Duties
The Director Community Services key result areas include:
- Provide high level support to the Premier, relevant portfolio Ministers, Cabinet and Agency Executive on significant issues affecting the Tasmanian community.
- Support the community services funding and reform and work with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of grant programs that increase participation in the community.
- Provide leadership, advice and strategic direction for the development of whole of government policies, strategies and programs related to current and emerging community services issues.
- Lead the policy and legislative reform program for Community Services.
- Work with the Deputy Secretary and senior leaders within Community and Government Services to establish the new Group and set and realise the strategic direction and organisational priorities for the Group.
- Lead and manage a broad and complex range of relationships with community sector organisations and stakeholders.
- Manage and oversee the engagement with and support of the Tasmanian Community Fund.
- Lead the advancement of a divisional culture that aligns with the Agency values.
- Represent the agency in negotiations and discussions with Government, national bodies, community and other organisations as required.
- Actively contribute to the broader Agency organisational priorities.
Desirable Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
