Job description:

An exciting opportunity, the Department of Health are seeking highly self-motivated an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join the Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing - Spencer Clinic team.

This role is based within Spencer Clinic, a Mental Health Inpatient Unit (SCIU) that offers consumers 19 inpatient beds, including 2 bed high-dependency unit. Spencer Clinic is located within the North-West Regional Hospital, barely 5 minutes from Burnie's CBD.

Whilst SCIU has experienced clinicians, it is predominantly a young team which is developing constantly and is the future succession planning.  This position ensures experienced clinicians are handing down their knowledge and skill base to the junior team members for that succession planning to succeed.

The Role:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice. works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in the pursuit of patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
