Job description:

The Warehouse Officer is responsible for overseeing the efficient management and operation of the warehouse for sites managed by PAHSMA

The Warehouse Officer is responsible for overseeing the efficient management and operation of the warehouse for sites managed by PAHSMA, this includes food & beverage, visitor services and retail operations. This role involves receiving, storing, organizing, and dispatching inventory, ensuring that all supplies are readily available and appropriately managed for the smooth running of all the associated tourism & hospitality services.

As a rostered day worker (RDW) you will be required to work some of your shift in the evenings and on weekends as rostered.

Duties

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee the receiving and storing of all goods, including food and beverage items, restaurant supplies, and retail merchandise.
  • Ensure proper organization of the warehouse for easy access and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software or systems.
  • Regularly conduct stock counts and audits to verify inventory levels and identify any discrepancies.
  • Place orders for stock replenishment based on consumption trends and forecasted needs, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.

Stock Control & Quality Assurance:

  • Inspect incoming goods for quality, quantity, and compliance with orders.
  • Ensure that perishable items are properly stored and adhere to food safety standards.
  • Implement a system for tracking expiration dates and managing waste to reduce spoilage. Logistics Coordination:
  • Coordinate the transportation and delivery of goods to the cafes, restaurant, and gift shop.
  • Ensure all goods are delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries as required, ensuring proper handling of goods. Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure that the warehouse and inventory storage areas are safe, clean, and comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain proper labelling and storage to meet food safety standards and regulations.
  • Adhere to the heritage operation’s environmental and sustainability practices in waste management and recycling.

Record Keeping & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound stock movements.
  • Prepare and submit inventory reports and usage forecasts to management.
  • Ensure all deliveries are accompanied by correct documentation and invoices, matching them with purchase orders.

Collaboration:

  • Liaise with F&B kitchen staff, cafĂ© managers, restaurant managers, and retail staff to ensure inventory requirements are met and that products are delivered on time.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to plan for seasonal changes in demand (e.g., peak tourist seasons).
  • Assist with the planning and setup of events or promotions that require additional inventory.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in managing inventory for a multi-location operation (cafes, restaurants, and retail).
  • First Aid certification or warehouse safety training.
  • Forklift licence
