Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time commencing as soon as possible.

Benefits
Salary of $74,783 - $80,835pa. Starting salary negotiable within range subject to experience in a similar role. Annual salary increase within this range in accordance with the Tasmanian State Service Award and Public Service Union Wages Agreement

Working Environment
Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale in the kitchen, within Ron Barwick Prison. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).
Duties
- Assist in the management of the food services area at Risdon Prison.
- Ensure food products prepared in the prison kitchen meet appropriate standards.
- Supervise prisoners employed in the Risdon prison kitchen and bakery including providing report on prisoner performance as required.
- Hands on catering production under the direction of the Assistant Food Services Manager.
- Train prisoners in operational and trade skills necessary for the preparation, production and presentation of meals to an appropriate standard.
- Assist in other Prison Industries outputs as required, including transport deliveries of food and other items to external clients.
- Assist in maintaining the catering units Quality Assurance accreditation.
- Assist in other Prison Industries outputs as required, including transport deliveries of food and other items to external clients.
Essential Requirements*
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Certificate 3 qualification in cooking and bakery or an equivalent field.
