The Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has an exciting opportunity for the right person, to provide leadership, quality assurance and direction to an assessment, sentence planning and reintegration team within the Planning and Reintegration Unit, in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements.
The Rehabilitation and Reintegration Unit provides opportunities for sentenced prisoners and remandees to address their risk factors for re-offending and criminogenic needs, to encourage personal development and foster the achievement of socially responsible attitudes and behaviour.

Details of Appointment
This role is a permanent, day work position working 73.50 hours per fortnight. Flexible working arrangements may be considered.

Benefits
Salary of $99,482 – $104,352 pa. Starting salary negotiable within range subject to experience in a similar role. Annual salary increase within this range in accordance with the Tasmanian State Service Award and Public Service Union Wages Agreement.

Working Environment
Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale.
The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).
Duties
- Mentor and supervise staff in the application of the Level of Service Case Management Inventory (LS/CMI) and case management practices.
- Assist the Senior Clinician in oversight of day to day operations of the Planning and Reintegration Unit including allocations and workload distribution.
- Assist the Senior Clinician to quality assure the implementation of the LS/CMI and case management practices.
- Case Management of more complex clients as required, developing comprehensive sentence plans and make referrals and or recommendations in line with individual plans.
- In conjunction with the Senior Clinician provide oversight of the Hobart Reception Prison Induction Process. This includes oversight of Induction Prison role, processes, documentation, staff training and ongoing review.
- In-depth contributions to Tasmania Prison Service’s processes and policies regarding case management including processes, documentation, staff training and ongoing review.
- Support and assist the Senior Clinician in the development and implementation of case management processes including LSI-R:SV, LS/CMI and strengths based case management.

Desirable Requirements
- Relevant tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in a discipline such as social work, psychology or counselling.
