Job description:

The position supports Community Corrections to provide assessments, evidence-based interventions, and case consultation for offenders on community-based orders.

Period of Appointment

Fixed term for 24 months 

Positions

2 positions available, 358048 and 35804.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Undertake comprehensive assessment and treatment planning of offenders, providing evidence based, best practice interventions in an assigned area of practice.
  • Maintain offender case notes, records and administrative information and prepare formal assessments and other reports in accordance with relevant practice standards.
  • Provide leadership, clinical direction, and guidance to Community Corrections staff.
  • Work collaboratively with Practice Leads and Unit Managers to provide training, expert advice, quality assurance and case management support to Probation Officers working with offenders subject to community based intervention.
  • Liaise and build relationships with stakeholders to support community and victim-survivor safety.
  • Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant industrial award or agreement and in accordance with the skills, competency and training of the occupant.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree of at least 3 years duration in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or equivalent as provided by a recognised university.
