Job description:

Provide informative advice, information and assistance to visitors experiencing the award winning multi-day Three Capes Track walk.

About the role

As the Host Ranger for Three Capes Track you will work to ensure visitors to the Three Capes have access to information, interpretation, advice, assistance as they explore the breathtaking beauty of the Tasman Peninsula.

You will be the host with the most as you manage bookings and present cabins to meet the high expectations of visitors undertaking the award winning multi-day walk.

Your passion for the outdoors and storytelling will help you captivate and engage visitors, taking them on a journey as you share your knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage of the Three Capes and surrounds.

Hours per fortnight

64 hours per fortnight (in accordance with an approved roster).

Period of appointment

To May 2025.

Essential requirements

  • Successful completion of the fitness assessment as the “Arduous” level (4.83km walk carrying 20.5kg in 45 minutes or less).
  • Registration to “Work with Vulnerable People” as required under the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013.

Desirable requirements

  • A current motor vehicle drivers’ licence.
  • Wilderness First Aid qualification.
  • Workplace Level 2 First Aid qualification.
