Job description:

Assist with hospital food prep, and cleaning while ensuring safe, hygienic service and meeting patient dietary needs.

The Team:

The team is located at the Cambridge Production Centre at 900 Loop Road Cambridge. Work as a member of a dynamic team at the production centre working in ware wash, tray line, production and stores. 

The Role:

As a Food Services Officer with the production team, you will support daily kitchen operations in accordance with Agency policies, procedures, and food safety guidelines. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, meal production and plating, ware-washing, and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.

  • Assist with the safe production of food items for the patients at the RHH and various THS sites.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Support stock receipt, storage, and safe handling of food supplies
  • Participate actively in quality, safety, and work health and safety processes

You will need:

  To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in food preparation, hospitality, or a similar environment (desirable)
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with dietary requirements and meal accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team
  • Good communication skills and a polite, customer-focused approach
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality improvement, and organisational values
  • Willingness to comply with all mandatory training and policy requirements

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. 

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: 

$57,130 to $62,486 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Plus 25% Casual loading - Equivalent of $36.00 to $39.37 per hour

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
