Job description:

Project Officer supports Hospitals North initiatives, provides high-level project support, guidance, and prepares corporate services documentation.

The Team: 

Hospitals North is responsible for a broad range of healthcare services delivered within the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and through eight regional Primary Health sites.

The LGH is Tasmania’s second largest hospital and the major referral centre for Northern Tasmania. Providing inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas. The LGH also delivers extensive outpatient and ambulatory services for the local community. Hospitals North is the largest employer in the region with approximately 3,800 staff. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

This role works in the Office of the Chief Executive, Hospitals North, to implement projects aligned with Hospitals North's strategic initiatives. This includes providing high level project support, providing guidance to relevant team members, and drafting documentation for projects relating to Hospitals North's corporate services.

You will need:

  • Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement Skills: Project manage and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders for the successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Policy Alignment and Risk Management Skills: Provide support and coordination to ensure that project activities adhere to Agency policies, core business functions, and relevant legislation. This includes identifying risks, issues, and supporting meetings and negotiations.
  • Complex Issue Resolution Skills: Provide high-level advice on complex and contentious issues that impact or are impacted by project activities. Contribute to the development of solutions for these issues.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.

Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
