Job description:

This is a senior role within Homes Tasmania requiring advanced knowledge and experience of communications and stakeholder engagement including highly nuanced interface with Ministerial Offices, with the ability to develop and implement monitoring and reporting strategies to ensure organisational outcomes and strategic objectives are achieved.

Period of employment / Hours:

Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP for a period of 12 months.

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

This is a senior role within Homes Tasmania requiring advanced knowledge and experience of communications and stakeholder engagement including highly nuanced interface with Ministerial Offices, with the ability to develop and implement monitoring and reporting strategies to ensure organisational outcomes and strategic objectives are achieved.
  • Provide specialist strategic communications, marketing, media, and community engagement advice to the Homes Tasmania executive leaders.
  • Manage the development, implementation and integrity of the Homes Tasmania’s brand and ensure all public communication materials contribute to the Homes Tasmania’s objectives and present the Authority as a contemporary, professional organisation.
  • Develop and implement communications and stakeholder engagement strategies including liaison and development of strategic alliances with key stakeholders that increases public awareness and understanding of the client outcomes achieved by Homes Tasmania.
 

Skills and experience :

Selection criteria includes:

  • Extensive skills in contemporary strategic public affairs, communications and leading stakeholder engagement, methodologies, tools and processes and experience in the utilisation of these skills in a high pressure and dynamic team environment with consideration of political and stakeholder implications.
  • Demonstrated experience in employment of management techniques to enable the effective and efficient monitoring of emerging stakeholder and media issues with a proven ability to be adaptive, flexible, and creative in responding to those issues to achieve project organisational outcomes within a human services system.
  • Politically astute with demonstrated high level strategic communication, liaison, and conflict management skills, with the high-level ability to negotiate complex and sensitive issues persuasively, and to facilitate mutually beneficial solutions.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Current Driver’s Licence.

Essential Requirements:

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
