The Team:
The Northern Cancer Services provides outpatient Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology Services of the highest quality to patients referred by their GP or specialist across Northern/North-West Tasmania. The clinic also has an active support of cancer research within Tasmania.
The clinic continues to be housed in the Launceston General Hospital complex, Mersey Community Hospital and North-West Regional Hospital and provides modern specialist cancer services in addition to having direct access to all other hospital services that may be required.
The Role:
- Provide and maintain an efficient admission service to the Northern Cancer Service.
- Provide day-to-day coordination of information, forms, correspondence and documents associated with chargeable patients at Holman Clinic, North West Cancer Centre and Mersey Community Hospital Day Oncology Unit.
- Provide an efficient and effective liaison service for private and compensable patients.
You will need:
- Demonstrated hospital admissions or clerical experience, including accurate patient interviewing, medical records management, and use of computerised patient administration or health information systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and professionally with patients, families and clinical staff, and accurately capture demographic and financial information.
- Compliance and integrity requirements, including completion of mandatory pre‑employment checks (criminal history, identification and disciplinary checks), adherence to confidentiality, and ability to meet Department of Health policies and procedures.

Details of appointment:
Permanent day worker position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,811 to $86,248 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
