Job description:

In this role you will assist in the delivery of tasks to support the centre-based respite programs, assisting with personal care for consumers, catering, domestic duties and the delivery of diversional therapy activities.

The Team:

Home Care South is a dynamic and client-focused team within the Department of Health (Tasmania), dedicated to delivering high-quality in-home support services across Southern Tasmania. Our primary mission is to support frail older people and younger people with disabilities to remain safely and independently in their homes and communities, in line with the Charter of Aged Care Rights and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards. You will be part of a team that values integrity, respect, and innovation in everything we do.

The Role:

Assist the Coordinator in the delivery of tasks to support the centre-based respite programs. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with personal care for consumers, catering, domestic duties and the delivery of diversional therapy activities.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated practical experience in working with frail aged and disabled within rural and remote communities.
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups, assist clients with personal care, and to encourage participation and improve quality of life through selected activities.
  • Practical knowledge of craft and leisure activities and the ability to develop programs which support improved quality of life for consumers.
  • Assist with transport of centre-based respite consumers.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 6 months.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
