
The Team:
The Aged Care Reform Unit works at a statewide level to support the care and services delivered by the Tasmanian Health Service to older Tasmanians. The Unit works strategically in supporting operational areas to improve the interface between the Tasmanian Health Service and the aged care sector.
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to provide strategic leadership and specialist expertise within the Aged Care Reform Unit. This senior role leads the integration and delivery of complex, high‑priority reform programs that support Government initiatives and strengthen performance across Tasmania’s health system. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the Program Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping service systems, governance, reporting, and reform outcomes that respond to increasing pressure on public hospitals and aged care services.
The Role:
The Program Manager is responsible for leading statewide programs and projects from design through to implementation and evaluation, providing authoritative advice to senior executives and stakeholders. The role oversees complex data collection, analysis, modelling and reporting, develops integrated service delivery frameworks, and ensures effective stakeholder engagement across government and sector partners. High‑level project management, financial oversight, change management, and the preparation of ministerial briefings and executive reports are central to the role.

- Demonstrated high level project management skills
- High level interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- High-level leadership ability

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 20 July 2026.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
