Period of employment / Hours:
Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation)

Duties:
Primary Purpose / Focus :
This is a senior officer role within the Housing Policy and Programs branch, requiring experience in strategic policy development and demonstrated ability to think critically with strong analytical, conceptual, research, writing, and personal management skills to provide evidence-based high-level advice about Tasmania’s housing and homelessness system.
The Senior Housing Advisor, as part of the Government Relations and Strategic Policy unit, will inform and develop strategic housing policy for recommendation to senior management, the Homes Tasmania Board, Department of Premier and Cabinet, government agencies and policy colleagues across Australia and provide advice on strategic housing matters.
Skills and experience :
Selection criteria includes:
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to lead the development of concise and correct written documents that identify relevant issues and make recommendations to shape strategic thinking at senior management level.
- Highly developed time management skills, with demonstrated ability to work quickly under pressure, often according to complex rules and procedures, and be adaptive to change.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work constructively as part of a team and to represent Homes Tasmania externally, including the ability to build productive relationships with key stakeholders and to effectively communicate to resolve complex issues.
