
The Team:
The Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MHHITH) is a virtual ward of the Royal Hobart Hospital, providing acute care for patients at their residence as a substitute for in-hospital acute care. MHHITH is a 7 day a week service, available to adult consumers of Statewide Mental Health Service, and operates from 0700 to 2230.
The Role:
The ANUM is a senior member of the team, and is often 'in-charge' of shifts - which involves receiving and preparing a handover for the team and allocating tasks due for that day, as well as responding to calls throughout the day. The ANUM also has an important role in providing leadership to the nursing team via education, safety and quality activities, and supporting junior members of the team.
You will need:
- Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in the pursuit of patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
