The Team:
Medicare Mental Health kids' hub program works alongside the CYMHS team providing early intervention to 0-12 age groups in the community/school environment and Early Learning Family centre.
The Role:
- Ensure delivery of comprehensive clinical service to young people between the ages of 0-12 including individual therapy and group work
- Actively participate in quality activities including evaluation of the program and reporting requirements.
You will need to:
- Contributes to the establishment, operationalization, delivery, and continuing improvement of a contemporary and integrated model of care for a designated specific CYMHS program, for children 0-12 who are experiencing/at risk of mental health difficulties.
- Provides leadership and contribute to strategic management, clinical decision making and sound clinical governance within the designated CYMHS /Medicare Mental Health kids hub program Multidisciplinary Team.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 26 June 2026.

Salary: $118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
- Current Working with Children Registration
*Registration/licenses that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licenses remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/license is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- A minimum of 3 years current post graduate experience in child, adolescent and/or youth mental health or relevant field
- Training in relevant and appropriate evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are developmentally appropriate such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Current Driver’s License.
