Job description:

Deliver high-level admin support for Older Persons Mental Health Services, supervising staff and coordinating key service processes

The Team:

The Team within the Department of Health Tasmania works collaboratively to support essential health services through their roles as Administrative Assistants. The team provides high‑quality administrative and clerical support, ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day operations of the service. By working closely with colleagues, clinicians, and stakeholders, the team contributes to effective communication, accurate information management, and a welcoming, professional experience for all clients and community members.
 
The Role:

As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Services principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency Policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Administrative Officer:

Undertakes a range of high-level administrative functions for the Older Persons Mental Health Services (OPMHS) Team including supervision of administrative staff and the coordination of administrative processes.

Provides high level day to day administrative support services to OPMHS.

You will need to:

  • Provide high level quality administrative and reception support to OPMHS including undertaking special projects at the direction of the Team Leader/Nurse Unit Manager North/North West OPMHS.
  • Undertake the coordination and supervision of administrative staff, including undertaking leave management, training of OPMHS staff in new processes, the orientation of new or casual administrative and other OPMHS staff, and the ongoing support of existing administrative staff.
  • Manage and coordinate the administrative support systems for the efficient and effective operation of OPMHS.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
