
The Role:
We are currently seeking Pharmacy Students to work as part of our team, assisting in the provision of safe and effective pharmacy services. Pharmacy students will be employed as Allied Health Assistant – Pharmacy Students and work under the direction of a pharmacist or supervisory pharmacy technician to participate in activities that support patient care, such as dispensing, inventory services and more.
These casual roles are specifically designed for students who are currently studying a Bachelor of Pharmacy and offer flexibility that suits your study commitments.
You will need:
1. Current enrolment in tertiary education relevant to pharmacy (i.e. Bachelor of Pharmacy).
2. Demonstrated theoretical professional knowledge about pharmacy services and some understanding of pharmaceutical products used in health care.
3. Sound reasoning skills and the ability to explain decision making to colleagues, supervisors, and patients.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible until 31 December 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $67,193 to $72,126 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Position Features:
This position is based in Mersey Community Hospital and Northwest Regional Hospital (Northwest region) and is intended for the casual employment of Pharmacy students; employees must not be rostered to work during a period of professional experience placement or work integrated learning that is a requirement of their study.
Employees at this level are not practitioners and must not work as such. Employees at this level must work under the direct supervision of an experienced pharmacist or pharmacy technician to provide a limited range of routine tasks that the supervisor has deemed them competent to perform, consistent with professional standards, established practices or methods and operational guidelines, systems and processes.

Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent qualification, or a commitment to attain this qualification and;
- Completion of units relevant to Pharmacy; or,
- Tertiary student of an approved Pharmacy program of study at a recognised tertiary institution
