
The Team:
The team is tasked with managing and supporting the digital workplace environment across the Department of Health Tasmania. Its scope includes:
- Microsoft 365 management: Ensuring productive and secure collaboration services.
- Standard Operating Environment deployment: Configuring and maintaining a consistent baseline across end-user devices.
- Cloud infrastructure oversight: Managing scalable, secure environments supporting Day-to-day operations.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM): Administering policies and tools for secure mobile access.
Their collective goal is to deliver a secure, reliable, and efficient digital ecosystem that supports healthcare staff and service delivery across Tasmania.
The Role:
The ICT Manager will:
- Provide high level specialist advice in relation to Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) to enable Health ICT to continue to plan, develop and implement appropriate ICT systems and infrastructure.
- Lead a team of IT specialists in the implementation and delivery of effective and efficient ICT services.
You will need to:
- Provide high level specialist advice to Health ICT management and senior executives on the strategic, tactical, and operational directions with respect to the provision of effective ICT systems and infrastructure, including the planning, development and implementation of new ICT services, systems, and infrastructure.
- Manage and lead a team of ICT specialists in the implementation and delivery of efficient and effective ICT services, including providing specialist advice and leadership to the team regarding developing options and recommendations to improve on service delivery objectives.
- Assist the Senior Manager - Client Services with the management of human, financial and physical resources associated with the Health ICT Client Services group.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker (with on call roster as required) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Tertiary, or recognised vocational, qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Relevant IT industry experience and certification.
- Current Driver’s Licence.

Position Features:
- Some regular out of hours work and participation in on-call services is a requirement of this role to meet specific needs and deadlines.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
