The Team:
Royal Hobart Hospital’s Department of Medical Imaging provides a comprehensive, patient-centred diagnostic and interventional service for the Tasmanian community, supporting care across emergency presentations, inpatient management and planned outpatient pathways. Working closely with referring clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, the department delivers timely imaging that underpins early diagnosis, treatment decisions and safe discharge planning, while also supporting statewide tertiary services and specialist clinics. Through high standards of radiation safety, specialist clinical expertise and a strong focus on equitable access, RHH Medical Imaging helps ensure Tasmanians receive high-quality, evidence-based imaging close to home, reducing the need for interstate travel and strengthening continuity of care.
You will need:
- Extensive experience and demonstrated knowledge and skills relating to the management of a contemporary Nuclear Medicine Imaging service within a tertiary referral hospital.
- Relevant experience in, and capacity to supervise, guide and teach Nuclear Medicine technologists and students as well as evaluate and monitor their performance
- Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of quality activities, principle of radiation safety and regulations pertaining to Nuclear Medicine imaging.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker (with on call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Medical Radiation Practice Board.
- Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board
- Licenced to practice under the Tasmanian Radiation Protection Act 2005 and the Radiation Protection Regulations 2016
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Minimum of five years postgraduate experience in Nuclear Medicine.
- Previous Clinical experience within a Nuclear Medicine Service in a tertiary referral level hospital
- Completed or be enrolled in a diagnostic CT for Nuclear Medicine Technologist if not completed as part of original degree
