Job description:

The After Hours Nurse Manager; • provides leadership, oversight and management of the activities of the health service/facility after-hours • supports the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework, by coordinating patient flow and management functions within the health service/facility

The Team:

The After Hours Nurse Manager is an integral member of the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) team at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH). The IOC serves as the central coordination hub, ensuring patients receive the right care from the right person in the most appropriate setting. It brings together integrated services that work collaboratively to deliver a seamless patient journey across the continuum of care, improving outcomes for consumers, the workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, oversight, and management of health service operations after hours. The successful applicant will demonstrate:
• Strong leadership skills and comprehensive knowledge of contemporary nursing management practices
• Adaptability and the ability to respond effectively to change
• Availability for fully rotational shifts, with a willingness to work predominantly weekends, late shifts, and nights
• The ability to integrate effectively within the existing After Hours Nurse Manager team

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, shift worker position, working 24 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $134,109 to $140,384 per annum Pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
