The Role:
- Lead and manage the optimal operation of our bed-based Mental Health Services across North and North West Tasmania.
- Provide clinical leadership to staff and managerial oversight for designated services in your portfolio.
- Deliver high-level advice on clinical standards, education, and complex service issues.
- Drive strategic direction for nursing services, professional standards, and quality of care.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance integration and outcomes.
- Champion continuous quality improvement and client safety initiatives.
- Contribute to service development, policy review, and change management as part of the leadership team.
- Progress the implementation of the Statewide Mental Health Services Strategic Priorities.
- Support our compliance against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

You will need:
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of contemporary mental health nursing practice, including relevant legislation, Agency policies and ANMC competencies.
- Comprehensive understanding of, and experience in, leading and implementing contemporary, integrated, consumer focused care across a number of specified specialist practice settings.
- Proven high level experience and ability in managing human, financial and material resources including the capacity to measure and monitor outcomes to optimise overall service efficiency and effectiveness.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) working 76 hours per fortnight, to commence as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Location: Launceston, Burnie - Tasmania
Salary: $149,807 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
- On-Call, Travel and Postgraduate Qualification Allowances are in addition to the salary.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
