Job description:

The SAACS – Huonville Community Nursing Team is seeking a highly motivated Administrative Assistant to contribute to health and community care

The Team:

This position offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity to contribute to health and community care through collaborative teamwork across four sites. You’ll work within multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong partnerships with the Huon and Kingborough Councils, as well as other key stakeholders, all committed to enhancing care, wellness, and reablement outcomes in partnership with our consumers.

The role provides administrative support to the Huon and Kingston Community Nursing teams, assists Bruny Island Community Nursing as required, and supports consumers, community members, and healthcare professionals attending our facilities or community appointments.

Located in the scenic Huon Valley—renowned for its National Parks, World Heritage areas, and the picturesque Huon River and D’Entrecasteaux Channel—our Huon and Cygnet Community Health Centres work closely with all services in the region. Together, we are dedicated to delivering excellence in healthcare and achieving improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the broader Tasmanian community.

The Role:

As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality health services, the Administrative Assistant plays a key role in ensuring effective and efficient administrative operations. Working as part of a small, supportive administrative team, this position provides day-to-day administrative and business support to community nursing and facility users.

The role contributes to the continuous improvement of administrative processes, helping ensure the smooth delivery of services and a positive experience for both staff and community clients.

You will need to:

  • Provide face to face and telephone reception service for Huon, Cygnet and Kingston Community Health Service clients.
  • Ensure sensitive and confidential handling of all enquiries and that information is provided to the correct clinician in a timely manner.
  • Undertake general administrative and clerical duties as required by senior staff and other clinicians within the Team.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
