The Team:
Join our award-winning team of Clinical Nursing and Midwifery Educators and Clinical Facilitators who work across the North West of Tasmania as patient safety guardians. We build the clinical skills of the whole multidisciplinary team to respond to patient deterioration. We develop innovative evidence-based programs to build the clinical competence of nurses across the spectrum of practice. Participate in whole of health service simulation exercises. Learn and grow with us. Positions are available on both the Surgical Ward and Medical Ward at NWRH. Please indicate if you are applying for the Medical ward or Surgical ward.
The Role:
- Support junior team members to develop the clinical competencies in medical and/or surgical nursing
- Develop education activities in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Educators
- Assess team members in practice.
You will need:
- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and evidence-based practice in the delivery of patient/client care in an acute inpatient setting and in line with legal requirements, the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards.
- Understanding of contemporary teaching and learning principles in practice.
- A willingness to develop your own education and assessment skills.

Details of appointment:
Multiple Fixed term full time/part time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a 12-month period.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $99,455 to $105,995 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
