Job description:

Join a dynamic team driving statewide health projects—planning, coordinating, and delivering complex initiatives in a collaborative setting.

The Team:

The team operates within the Department of Health Tasmania, supporting the delivery of strategic health initiatives that improve services and outcomes for the Tasmanian community. As part of a dynamic and collaborative project environment, the team is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing complex health projects across the state.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, clinical experts, and external partners, the team ensures that projects are aligned with departmental priorities and government health strategies. The Senior Project Manager plays a key leadership role—guiding project teams, managing risks, ensuring timelines and budgets are met, and delivering high-quality outcomes that support the Department’s mission to provide safe, effective, and sustainable health care.

The Role:

The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership, direction, support, and facilitation of assigned projects and provide high level specialist expertise and authoritative advice regarding strategic and policy issues impacting on various Health ICT commissioned projects.

You will need to:

  • Provide leadership, direction, support, and facilitation of assigned projects, including the implementation of strategic project initiatives and the development of policies across the Department of Health (DoH).
  • Provide high level specialist expertise and authoritative advice regarding strategic and policy issues impacting on various Health ICT commissioned projects, including identifying, defining, and developing options for complex policy and project delivery outcomes.
  • Effectively manage the delivery of assigned project and program components associated with the reform of the Health ICT systems and services in Tasmania to effect change in a structured and formalised manner.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
