Job description:

Adult Mental Health Services South comprises of 16 teams across inpatient, community and bed-based community teams. Our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Team:

Adult Mental Health Services South comprises of 16 teams across inpatient, community and bed-based community teams. Our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

Provide leadership and high-level advice within Mental Health Services South (MHS South).

Provide operational and professional leadership and strategic direction including the effective management of human, financial and physical resources. This may include clinical supervision for relevant professional disciplines, or the facilitation of this clinical supervision.

As part of the MHS South leadership group, and as a senior manager and clinician, actively contribute to overall service development including policy review, the development and implementation of strategies to meet current and future service priorities and change management.

You will need:

  1. Minimum of five (5) years postgraduate employment as an Allied Health Professional in mental health, forensic mental health or alcohol and drug services, together with demonstrated in-depth knowledge and understanding of contemporary Allied Health practice.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of, and experience in, leading and implementing contemporary, integrated, consumer focused care across a number of relevant specialist practice settings.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of specified specialist practice settings together with an extensive knowledge and understanding of the range of complex management and clinical issues relating to a diverse health care service.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: Allied Health Professional Manager Level 5, Grade 2

$149,660 to $151,608 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia and Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia; or
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Completion, or progression towards the completion, of a postgraduate qualification relevant to the position
  • Current Driver’s Licence
