Job description:

The Site & Team:

This is an exciting opportunity to use and further develop your clinical leadership and management skills to work as part of a supportive interdisciplinary team of health professionals with a focus on client centred goal setting, rehabilitation planning and program delivery. The Community Rehabilitation Unit (CRU) is an adult outpatient rehabilitation service working with clients with a diverse range of diagnostic conditions.

CRU staff work with clients to achieve their goals in our well-equipped centre and in the client’s home and community.

CRU is located at the Repatriation Centre, 90 Davey Street, Hobart

The role 

  • The Community Rehabilitation Unit (CRU) is seeking a motivated and experienced person to bring their existing skills and knowledge to this exciting senior position. 
  • Your clinical and leadership skills will ensure clients referred to CRU receive a high level of occupational therapy clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and delivery of therapeutic intervention programs.
  • Undertake specialised Occupational Therapy clinical assessment and treatment.
  • Provide clinical direction, support and resource development for the specialised clinical areas to occupational therapists.
  • Assist with the development of the occupational therapy services through planning, evidence-based practice, quality improvement and research activities and clinical placements for undergraduate students.
  • Maintain the Code of Ethics of Occupational Therapy Australia Limited, the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary occupational therapy and rehabilitation practices and the ability to achieve best practice outcomes for clients who attend the Community Rehabilitation Unit. 
  • Extensive occupational therapy experience with a range of clients with complex care needs across a number of different settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership to staff and students of varying levels within the Occupational Therapy and interdisciplinary team.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications or working towards.
