
The Team:
The Technical Consultant is a key member of the Department of Health Tasmania’s digital and technical services team. This role supports the delivery of innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that enhance health services across the state. The team is known for its commitment to service excellence, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation to support Tasmania’s public health objectives.
The Role:
This particular role:
- Must have experience in the supervision of a significant number of staff across multiple locations.
- Acts as a daily supervisor to the IT Service Centre staff and monitor the services provided to the business, who are supporting the public.
- Needs to have an exceptional client focus to provide the best outcomes for the business and the public.
- Provides support to the Manager IT Service Centre and Senior Managers across Health ICT.
- Should have knowledge of statistical analysis and systems associated with such.
- Should have a technical background or experience in a frontline team that allows the position to research, implement and maintain relevant applications and procedures.
While the scope of work is defined by the operational priorities of the assigned business unit, the role works collaboratively within and across teams and with stakeholders to meet agreed briefs and branch service standards.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Successful applicant needs to be able to work within the hours of 7.00am - 7.00pm Monday-Friday on one of the 3 roster groups within the IT Service Centre (working no more than a 7.6 hour day).
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
