
The Team:
This is a new statewide leadership role at the centre of a major reform initiative to strengthen safety and security across the Department of Health. As Director – Statewide Training and Delivery, you will have a unique opportunity to build a system-wide program that drives cultural change, enhances workforce capability, and improves safety outcomes across every region of Tasmania.
The Role:
The Director – Statewide Training and Delivery is a senior member of the Office of the Chief Risk Officer responsible for ensuring the provision of high-level analysis, oversight and advice on strategic risk issues; Occupational Violence Prevention (OVP) education development and provision, implementation and monitoring of strategic policies and projects across the Department of Health; and high level support and advice to strategic business processes and frameworks.
You will need to:
- Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of OVP policies, procedures and protocols for the efficient and effective establishment, management and evaluation of OVP & related education provision risks and functions, in collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer.
- Develop and maintain frameworks and modelling on key strategic risks and objectives and prepare high level documentation, complex briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence for consideration by executive staff, Secretary and key stakeholders
- Provide leadership, direction and coordination to team members and coordinate reporting and accountability processes.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
