Pharmacy careers in the Tasmanian Health Service
The Role:
Pharmacy Technicians in Statewide Hospital Pharmacy work in a rotational capacity and participate in activities such as medication dispensing, ward-based medication supply, medication compounding, PBS claiming, inventory management and drug distribution.

Multiple vacancies are available within North West Hospital Pharmacy, full-time and part time positions available in day work roles. Please note that staff in our North West Hospital Pharmacy team provide services at the Mersey Community Hospital and the North West Regional Hospital, and staff are required to work at both sites.
You will need:
- Prior relevant pharmacy work experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- To possess or be actively enrolled in a Certificate III or IV in Hospital and Health Services Pharmacy Support or an equivalent qualification (for example, a Certificate III in Community Pharmacy)

Details of appointment:
Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Multiple Fixed term, full time/part time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 24 April 2026.
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until Apr 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Possess or be actively enrolled in Certificate III or IV in Health Services Assistance (Hospital and Community Health Pharmacy Assistance) from a recognised education institution; or
- Possess or be actively enrolled in Certificate III or IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support from a recognised educational institution; or
- An Associated Diploma from a recognised educational institution, or an equivalent qualification, that is relevant to the work of a Pharmacy Technician.
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
