
The Role:
- The Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) is a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our nurses play a key role within the large multidisciplinary team to provide high quality diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology to the Tasmanian community.
- DMI is seeking compassionate, highly adaptable nurses with a passion for learning and teaching who demonstrates advanced communication and teamwork skills.
- The Registered Nurse strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals.
Department of Medical Imaging (DMI):
- The Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) provides diagnostic and interventional radiology service for the Tasmanian across multiple modalities including ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy and angiography. We provide a Monday to Friday service and 24/7 on-call support for emergency interventional procedures.
- The Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) is a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a large multidisciplinary team including radiologist, radiographers, sonographers, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, administrative staff, and hospital support officers.

- DMI offers structured training pathways to upskill our team across all modalities, including Angiography.
- Staff are required to wear lead aprons when working in Medical Imaging.
You will need:
- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA) Registered Nurse standards for practice.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence based practice in the practice setting.

Details of appointment:
Multiple, permanent, full time and part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from August 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
