Job description:

The Injury Management (IM) team is responsible for providing high level advice and working in partnership with Department of Health (DoH) business units to ensure effective management of workers’ compensation matters, injury management and return to work activities; and ensure policy, procedures and systems are in place to meet compliance with current workers compensation and injury management legislation.

These roles can be located either in the North or South of Tasmania.

The Team:

The Injury Management (IM) team is responsible for providing high level advice and working in partnership with Department of Health (DoH) business units to ensure effective management of workers’ compensation matters, injury management and return to work activities; and ensure policy, procedures and systems are in place to meet compliance with current workers compensation and injury management legislation.

The Role:

The Injury Management Coordinator (IMC) is responsible for:

  • Undertaking case management of worker’s compensation claims.
  • Facilitating and coordinating return to work programs; and undertaking a range of duties associated with operational Injury Management and Work Health and Safety and Wellbeing (WHS&W) in the workplace.
  • Providing support to the IM team to ensure operational compliance with workers compensation legislation.

You will need to:

Undertake all duties associated with Injury Management including:

  • Case management of workers compensation claims.
  • Facilitating and coordinating return to work programs.
  • Provide high level advice to managers and employees on injury management issues including compensable and non-compensable injuries and illnesses.
  • Maintain knowledge and sound understanding of the regulatory environment affecting worker’s compensation, WHS and employment within the Agency and represent IM as required.

Details of appointment:

Two permanent full time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Completion of, or undertaking, Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management or an equivalent qualification.
