The Team:
Ambulance Tasmania (AT) promotes and provides integrated high quality, emergency ambulance care, rescue, and patient transport to the Tasmanian community. The role of AT is to provide pre-hospital patient care, specialised patient transport, medical transfers, and public education. AT achieves this using salaried and volunteer staff as well as through the support of independent ambulance services.
Ambulance staff are frontline health care professionals. They are active members of the health care team, contributing to the preservation and restoration of health for the people of Tasmania. Paramedics provide efficient and effective medical care, which is timely, appropriate to the needs of the patient, of a high quality and equitably available.
The Role:
- Attend to members of the community requiring clinical care and treatment via ambulance services.
- Independently, or as part of a team, deliver pre-hospital clinical care in accordance with approved clinical practice guidelines.
- Maintain constant contact with the State Communications Centre, in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania (AT) policies and protocols.
- Complete all relevant documentation with respect to clinical services, training provided and changes to the working environment and equipment.
- Maintain a prescribed level of knowledge in ambulance care practices and the correct application of ambulance equipment.
- Maintain the allocated vehicle and equipment in a state of readiness at all times.

- Paramedics may be required to undertake periods of relief work at stations within their regions and Intrastate travel may be required for training purposes and other specified purposes.
- Occupants may be required to undertake on-call, according to service requirements.
You will need:
- Ability to deliver pre-hospital clinical care and transport in accordance with approved clinical practice guidelines.
- Evidence of having undertaken a state jurisdictional ambulance service graduate program and meeting the eligibility requirements of a state jurisdictional ambulance service’s authority to practice as a paramedic.
- Capacity to successfully undertake clinical practice-based training and recertification programs and maintain contemporary knowledge and skill levels within approved clinical proactive guidelines.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $106,959 to $124,987 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2022.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Employees employed at the following Remote site will be paid a Remote and Rural allowance of 8% of base Salary. Miena, Queenstown, Strahan or Zeehan
- Employees employed at the following Remote site will be paid a Remote and Rural allowance of 4% of base Salary. Beaconsfield, Bicheno, Bridport, Bruny Island, Campbell Town, Deloraine, George Town, Nubeena, Oatlands, Ouse, Scamander, Scottsdale, Smithton, Swansea, St Helens or Triabunna

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia
- Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science and relevant work experience or other qualification approved by the Service
- Current Driver Licence
