Exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Officer to join the Department of Health!

The Team:

The Statewide Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) Reform Team works with all relevant stakeholders to provide project leadership to implement actions to deliver the recommendations of the Statewide Mental Health Services CYMHS review and Commission of Inquiry. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic professional to join the team to provide high level strategic and corporate support to the CYMHS reform program.

Existing and new services being planned and established include:

  • Out of Home Care
  • Youth Mental Health
  • Youth Forensic Mental Health
  • Statewide Community CYMHS

The Role:

  • Provides project leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of the recommendations of the Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) review.
  • Provides definitive high-level strategic advice to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the broader CYMHS leadership team and other CYMHS project managers to ensure that the delivery of strategic reform programs is consistent and integrated.
  • Develops highly effective and productive relationships and manage networks with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertakes specific project management functions associated with the CYMHS Reform Program in a health services environment including CAMHS system linkages with external agencies.

You will need 

  1. Significant experience in developing and implementing change management programs and/or experience working at a strategic level implementing modern and contemporary practices within a best practice framework.
  2. Proven liaison and consultation experience and the ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the development and implementation ofan integrated outcomes-focused project.
  3. Highly developed interpersonal, communication, decision making, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,and ability to foster support for change across a diverse employee base, with the proven capacity to motivate, develop and support staff through a positive change management process.

Details of appointment:

Fixed Term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
