The Team:
JW Whittle Palliative Care Unit is a specialist unit with 10 single rooms and is designed to provide a peaceful homelike atmosphere where patients and their carers and family members can benefit from the individualised care and support of the interdisciplinary palliative care team.
In consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and/or Registered Nurse, the Extended Care Assistant will assist activities of daily living:
- Assist patients of JW Whittle PCU with personal care needs, as directed by nursing staff.
You will need to:
- Assist nursing staff with manual handling, ensuring to comply with safe manual handling techniques and/or the operational instructions of lifting equipment.
- Under the direction of nursing staff, assist in the activities of daily living for patient, including showering, toileting, grooming and feeding.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $63,110 to $66,049 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
