The Team:
The Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, our busy cardiology clinic is located in the Wellington Outpatient Department, in which you will work alongside a team of experienced cardiologists, nurses and healthcare professionals dedicated to diagnosing, treating and preventing cardiovascular disease. All our services work collaboratively together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
Join our team as a Clinical Co-ordinator, Cardiac Liaison Nurse and make a difference to patients lives.
We are seeking
- A compassionate, dedicated and skilled nurse with a passion for cardiac care.
- Ability to act as a key link and collaboration between patients, their families and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals for cardiac procedures.
- Actively provide team leadership and assist in supporting and developing a strong professional clinic environment
You will need
- Highly developed contemporary knowledge and skills in specialist cardiology care nursing practices with recent clinical experience, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated advanced interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills, including conflict management, with proven ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and act as a preceptor to members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise clinical and administrative tasks within a busy environment subject to work pressure and change.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
- Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
- Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience within cardiology.

Experience within the outpatients setting ideally cardiology.

Holds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualifications.
