
The Team:
The Trauma Service is responsible for the initial inpatient management of major trauma patients, including assessment, stabilisation and coordination of multidisciplinary care. The Trauma Service oversees trauma system governance, the Tasmanian trauma registry, continuous quality improvement and workforce development at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The Role:
In collaboration with the Director of Trauma and the Nurse Manager, the CNC provides clinical leadership for trauma case management, assists in trauma quality improvement and delivery of trauma related education.
- Extensive experience with demonstrated advanced level of clinical expertise in surgical or perioperative, critical care or emergency department nursing; is completely patient/client focused, demonstrates self-awareness of the effects of behaviour on others, deals with or manages ambiguity and complexity, and demonstrates resilience in the delivery of safe and quality patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide contemporary leadership together with the ability to initiate, guide and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and evaluate change and develop direction in clinical practice through planning, quality improvement, research, and clinical risk management activities to address emerging service needs in relation to Safety and Quality.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 28 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
