Job description:

The Food Services team are dedicated to delivering high quality meals and service to patients and staff.   The Supervisor role will lead by example in demonstrating THS CARE values to staff and within the community.

The Supervisor role will lead by example in demonstrating THS CARE values to staff and within the community.

The Role:

  • Undertake the daily management of the Central Kitchen, within the Acute Hospital, working to deliver high quality services and products to our clients.
  • Implementation (where applicable), supervision and monitoring of a food safety program,
  • Provide support, direction and supervision to the catering team,
  • Responsible for all aspects of food production, from purchasing to service of ready to eat meals to high-risk patients, staff and visitors,
  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen environment, complying with all relevant standards,
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes for clients.

 

The successful applicant will have a minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery, Food Safety Supervisor Certification and experience in Food Services within Health Care.

Excellent team building, time management and organisation is a must.

Ability to play an active role within the kitchen and balancing with Supervisor duties will be a key requirement.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, to commence as soon as possible until 28 February 2026.

This is a Fixed Term role only and will not be extended beyond this period.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are required:

  • Certificate III in Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisors Certification (HLTFSE001, HLTFSE007 & HLTFES005) or equivalent
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Proven experience in an acute hospital setting
