The team: CYMHS Head to Health kids
H2HK Tas is an integrated secondary level mental health service for emerging complexity for the 0-12 year age group and represents an important addition to a child and family mental health stepped care model in Tasmania.
This early intervention service enables families to access a range of evidence based individual and group interventions and supports for mild to moderate emotional, behavioural, social, relational, and developmental challenges.
The Head to Health Kids Tas service works with families, and universal, secondary, and tertiary service providers, to provide integrated and holistic care. The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) is a key co-service partner.
As part of the Head to Health Kids team, the role will:
- Support the establishment of the CYMHS North Head to Health Kids Tasmania service.
- Undertake assessments, care planning and delivery of individual and group secondary level mental health interventions to children and families, including culturally appropriate services.
- Develop and support collaborative care partnerships with service providers including across primary health, child health and parenting, paediatrics, child safety, education, and early childhood programs and services.
- Collect and review client and service outcome data and participate in activities to improve client outcomes.
- Contribute to continuing quality and safety, service development and improvement, and professional development processes and standards.
Duties:
- Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through relevant assessment, recovery focused case management and other recovery or trauma informed services, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
- Provision of evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with major and complex mental health problems, that are in line with the Tasmanian Governments Rethink Initiative and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Working in accordance with the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
- Actively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $110,425 - $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
- Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable as determined by individual position requirements)
- Current Driver’s Licence
