The Team:

The Close Observation Unit (COU) at the Mersey Community Hospital is a 6 bed Level 2 COU, providing level 2 Critical care and High Acuity services to the North West region of Tasmania.

The Role:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice:

  • Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until July 2025. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria 

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications
