Job description:

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated Executive Support Officer to join the Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing - VAD Commission Team in South.

The Role:

The Executive Support Officer will be responsible, as a member of a small team, for:

  • Assisting the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission in the performance of its statutory functions under the End-of-Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021, and
  • Providing high level executive and administrative support to the Assistant Manager - Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission, to the Manager - Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission, to members of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission, and to other senior managers as required.
  • Maintaining an organised approach to all work undertaken. 
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality, judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in the performance of all tasks.

The role involves managing records, preparing documentation, advising on compliance, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and supporting the implementation of policies and projects related to voluntary assisted dying.

The Team:

The Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission is established by the End-of-Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021 as an independent body with decision-making, advisory, monitoring, reporting, investigative, referral, and review functions

The Office of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission is looking for a professional and highly organised Executive Support Officer to support the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission in the performance of its functions.  

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 6 months. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $81,915 - $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
