The Team
Surgical and Perioperative Services administrative teams engage in a wide range of duties and offer plenty of opportunity for professional development and growth. Our stream promotes a positive working environment and has been actively working towards embedding a problem solving and can-do attitude culture. We are seeking applicants who have the ability to demonstrate initiative, positive and enthusiastic attitude, multitasking tasking skills, and the ability to work both autonomously independently and as part of a team. The successful applicant will primarily liaise with internal stakeholders such as executives and a wide range of hospital staff. Duties include, however are not limited to:
- Utilising Microsoft packages.
- Utilising software’s such as Proact, iPM, DMR, PageUp, RMS and eScriptionone.
- Co-ordinating shared mailboxes.
- Diary management.
- Processing and tracking of timesheets, overtime, leave and shift swap forms.
- Ad hoc meeting preparation and minute taking.
- Rostering.
Within Surgical and Perioperative Services, we promote productivity in conjunction with upskilling of staff to enable progression within the stream.
The Role:
In accordance with established Agency policies, guidelines and procedures, the Administrative Assistant will:
- Provide high level administrative and clerical support to the Head of Department (HoD) and Medical Staffing within the Neurosurgery department.
- Undertake a wide range of clerical and organisational duties to assist with the flow of information to and from the Neurosurgery department.
- Contribute to the coordination of the day-to-day general administration of the office to ensure that operations are maintained in an effective and efficient manner.

Details of appointment: General Stream, Band 2
Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $66,049 - $70,993 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
