Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team on Tasmania's scenic West Coast.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Registered Nurse to fill the role of Clinical Nurse Educator - West Coast to:

  • Facilitate and support the educational needs and development of the West Coast workforce.
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate education programs and activities within the West Coast District Hospital (WCDH), including sub-acute inpatients, Emergency First Response Unit (EFRU), Residential Aged Care and Community Services based at Rosebery Community Health Centre (RCHC).

Applicants should possess the relevant skills and experience to hit the ground running, and work with the Primary Health North West Leadership and Management team under the leadership and guidance of the Director of Nursing West Coast.

As a unit of the Tasmanian Health Service, Primary Health North West are focused on providing exceptional services to our consumers across our District Hospital and Community Health Services. Our team work together to deliver quality clinical outcomes and exceptional patient care.

The West Coast District Hospital:

The West Coast District Hospital provides Queenstown and surrounding communities with access to quality health services including a 24-hour Emergency First Response Unit, 9 Sub-Acute inpatient beds with a palliative care suite and a co-located 16 bed Residential Aged Care facility. Visiting Services also attend the West Coast such as Radiology, Diabetes Clinic, Physiotherapy, Obstetrics and Midwifery Clinic and Podiatry.

The Rosebery Community Health Centre:
A range of community services are also provided from the hospital including Community Health Nursing, Home Care Packages, Home Help/Personal Care, Home Maintenance and Adult Day Centre.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, shift worker position working up to 76 hours per fortnight. Job share arrangements may be considered for the right applicant.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives Tasmanian State Service 2023

Allowances: 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type 
  • District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family 
  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10% 

Benefits available to eligible candidates 

  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.

  • Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
